Concept Overview

A branding studio that provides networks, insights,  collaborations and opportunities for designer’s who are trying to form their brand on social media.

Need Statement

Designers and creatives have the skill set to create jaw-dropping innovative projects. However, many of them are clueless when it comes to the topic of the business of design. Most of them tend to disregard that the design industry is a business too. We, as a group, wanted to create a branding studio that shows the designer’s the value of their skills and work. Thus, as a branding studio, our main aim is to provide alternative solutions and opportunities to help our creatives to make a successful living while also working on their passion projects.

Concept Description

By creating a studying curve, the learners will be able to see their learning activity during a period of time. And from the study log, learners will be able to have a clear understanding of the comparison between the number of learned words and new words during a period of time. 

Target Audience

Creatives, who need professional guidance to form a profitable business in the field of their interest. 

Learning Goals
  • The ability to outline a business model/ plan.

  • Familiarity with financial systems vocabulary; tools needed to map budgeting, billing and taxation. 

  • How to market yourself/ your work. The right resources and platforms that will guarantee consumer interaction with your product.

  • How to collect feedback (constructive criticism) and revise your product based on the insights.

  • Learning how to manage complex projects that require collaboration and constant revision/implementation. 

  • Trend forecasting and inspirational updates on the leading companies on the industries. 

  • Creating an online community of creatives that share a vision which will ultimately promote members. This community will be a great support for each business and help the individuals gain recognition in the field. This means new people, new opportunities.

Learning Theory
  • Multimedia Principle:  “people learn more deeply from words and pictures than from words alone” (Mayer, p43, 2014).

  • Temporal Contiguity Principle in Multimedia: “People learn more deeply from a multimedia message when corresponding animation and narration are presented simultaneously rather than successively” (Mayer, p281, 2014)
